The Occoneechee Council has a long-standing tradition of empowering youth through service, outdoor adventure, and personal growth. However, their existing website had grown sprawling and difficult to manage, with obsolete information, redundancies, and a loss of clear structure. The site’s outdated design and complex navigation made it difficult for prospective Scouts, parents, and supporters to understand the breadth of programs and easily access resources. It no longer reflected the energy and impact of modern Scouting.

the solution

• The Occoneechee Council partnered with Beam & Hinge to create a dynamic new website that honors the legacy of Scouting while presenting it in a fresh, engaging way.
• The project began with a comprehensive site audit to streamline existing content and guide the placement of program information and resources on the new site. Focusing on the ‘first-time-visitor’, the new navigational structure makes it easy for users to follow clear pathways to join, donate, and participate.
• The new website delivers a vibrant design balanced with a polished, modern experience that captures the spirit of Scouting . The site has become a powerful tool for recruitment, communication, and community-building across the Council’s entire network.
